Empirical Social Science Research – intensive short course

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course gives an introduction into key concepts of social science research. It will therefore start at the formulation of a research question, advance through the specification of a theory and the deduction of hypotheses, to the operationalisation of concepts and data collection. While we will have Data Analysis in mind, it will NOT be a part of this course. Starting out largely theoretically, it will quickly become a training of practical skills that every Social Science Researcher needs.
